Here's
my first attempt
at knife sharpening:
Not
to good, huh?
The instructions say to lift the knife when you come to the
tip.
This man shows how it's done in his video:

After a few knives; this:
Still
not the greatest.
After
a few more knives I deem that it's impossible for me to lift
the knife and
get a good tip with any consistency.
So...
I
cut out a 4 inch circle with a one half inch hole
in the center out of a .060"
thick sheet styrene,
sanded the Tormek jig knobs and the styrene w/360 sandpaper,
and
glued the circle to the knife jig's knob with a thin layer of epoxy:
My
next problem was holding both holders while the epoxy cured.
Problem solved:
Look
at this:
A
knife tip that's "Like the big guys make" because I
can now keep
the knife jig parallel to the universal support.
